Nidec Motor Company Announces Major Lexington Expansion
Gov. Bill Haslam and TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe last week announced one of the largest economic development projects in Henderson County since 2011. Nidec Motor Company plans to invest $18 million and create approximately 300 jobs at its operations in Lexington. The electric motor manufacturer will expand its production capabilities at its Lexington facility. More details here.
Martin Recognized by Tennessee Municipal League
The City of Martin was recently awarded the Tennessee Municipal League’s award for excellence in technology and economic development. The distinction recognizes Martin’s efforts to become Tennessee’s next gig city, providing high-speed internet services for residents, businesses and students at the University of Tennessee at Martin. LG Takes Part in Bonnaroo, to Donate Appliances to Clarksville Nonprofits
LG Electronics took part in this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival with the first “LaundROO Lounge and Vintage Clothing Swap”. The lounge was equipped with air-conditioning, 50 washing machines and dryers, mobile phone charging stations and interactive gaming stations featuring LG OLED TVs.
LG plans on donating the contents of the LaundROO lounge to local nonprofits and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. Here’s more.
