Tyson Foods Holds Official Groundbreaking in Humboldt
Tyson Foods broke ground at its new facility in Humboldt last week. The Gibson County operations will operate as a tray pack facility, which will include a hatchery, processing facility and feed mill. Tyson plans to create approximately 1,500 jobs and invest over $300 million in Humboldt, which represents Tyson’s biggest investment in Tennessee and the single largest investment in Gibson County’s history.
Heraeus Celebrates Expansion in Morgan County
Precious metals refiner Heraeus celebrated the expansion of its Wartburg facility on Wednesday. Heraeus is the latest German company to invest in Tennessee. Commissioner Rolfe joined Sen. Ken Yager and company officials for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.
TNECD Officials Attend SEUS-CP Conference
TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Deputy Commissioner Allen Borden joined governors, dignitaries and businesses from five southeastern U.S. states and seven member provinces from Canada in Mobile, AL on Monday for the 11th Annual Conference of the Southeast United States and Canadian Provinces Alliance.
Dayton’s Own TenCate has Worldwide Reach
With its U.S. headquarters located in Dayton, TenCate supplies yarn to more than 30 percent of all synthetic sports fields in the country, including the New England Patriots’ indoor practice facility. Over the past two years, the Dutch-based company has invested more than $5 million into its Rhea County facility that employs 225 people. Read more here.
