M&M Industries Expanding In Chattanooga

Chattanooga’s M&M Industries, Inc. announced last week plans to undergo a major expansion in Hamilton County. M&M, a solutions packaging manufacturer, will invest more than $42 million and create 110 jobs as part of the expansion. More details here.

TNECD’s Iliff McMahan Recognized By Gov. Haslam

Iliff McMahan, TNECD’s regional director in Northeast Tennessee, was one of six exemplary veteran state employees recognized by Gov. Haslam during his annual Celebration of Tennessee Veterans last week. Iliff is a valuable part of our team and we thank him and all veterans for their courage and service.

Downtown Theaters Coming Back to Life With Façade Improvements

Two Tennessee Main Street Communities, Bolivar and Greeneville, got a little brighter in recent weeks with the installation of new theater marquees. The marquees were restored through TNECD’s Commercial Façade Improvement Grants, which are available to Main Street and Tennessee Downtown communities. The program has helped local communities repairs commercial buildings in historic downtowns to generate business growth and create new jobs. Greeneville was able to bring back the Capitol Theatre marquee (right) and Bolivar now has The Luez marquee back in place (left).
