Philips Opens Doors at New 800-Job Nashville Office Hub

A Fortune 500 health care technology company. Nashville: the healthcare capital of the world, home to the U.S.’s largest for-profit hospital systems and healthcare providers.

This match is one of the main reasons Royal Philips picked Nashville as the home of a new major hub for its global business services team. On Wednesday, Philips held a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of its new Nashville operations, expected to employ more than 800 people within the next two years. We caught up with Philips’ leadership to get a deeper look at why the tech giant picked Nashville and what lies ahead for the company in Middle Tennessee. More here.

Tennessee Small Businesses Lead Nation for Job Growth for 11th Consecutive Month

Tennessee small businesses have done it again. According to the Paychex Small Business Jobs Index, Tennessee is the top state in the nation for small business job growth for the eleventh consecutive month.

Nissan Unveils New 2018 LEAF Model

Nissan unveiled the all-new 2018 Nissan LEAF last week. Production for the new LEAF is officially underway at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant and will be available at dealerships nationwide starting next month. Nissan has been manufacturing LEAF at the Smyrna plant since 2013, with more than 114,550 models sold in the United States since 2011.

Cumberland Ignite Lab Holds Grand Opening in Lebanon

TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe joined Lebanon and Wilson County officials for the Cumberland Ignite Lab’s grand opening in Lebanon.

The Cumberland Ignite Lab will be a resource where entrepreneurs can bring their best ideas and transform them into real business concepts and plans. With the assistance of the Cumberland Ignite Lab, entrepreneurs will have access to classes, co-working space and a variety of other programs that will put them on a path to success.
