Duties:

To administrate the finances of the county for all funds of the various departments, agencies, and boards. The Finance Department is responsible for purchasing, accounting, budgeting, payroll, and other such financial matters. The department conforms to generally accepted principles of governmental accounting.

Carter County has joined the Tennessee Purchasing Group and will be publishing and distributing upcoming bid opportunities on Bidnet Direct. The Tennessee Purchasing Group connects participating agencies from across Tennessee to a large vendor pool and streamlines the bid and vendor management process.
